In recognition of the potential benefits Trans-Texas Corridor could bring to the region, the City of College Station has passed a resolution formally requesting that the TTC-69 study area be expanded to include Brazos County.
The city's March resolution recognized that if served by TTC-69, the Brazos Valley would share in the economic development, service to business and job creation the corridor will bring.
TTC-69 is a 600-mile, multi-billion dollar project from Northeast Texas to Mexico and is expected to increase mobility, safety and economic development opportunities through a multi-use transportation system that includes roads, rail and utilities.
TxDOT is considering the College Station request as it continues work on the initial environmental study that would narrow the current study area to approximately four miles wide. Public hearings are scheduled for later this year to get public input.
